The security programs that are available to you from within is dependent upon your particular product license. You may have access to one or to both of the security programs currently offered by . Note: The name used to refer to this program changes depending upon the particular edition of the program being used. For consistency sake, the name is used throughout this document when referring to the program. For a detailed list of each edition of the program and its capabilities, please see Editions of the Program.
provides the ability to scan all of the Microsoft-based machines in your network and assess the current patch status of those machines. After a scan is performed you can generate reports that provide additional details about the patch "health" of each machine. The program can then be used to easily bring each machine up-to-date. You simply instruct the program to download and deploy the desired patches to the machines of your choosing. You can even dictate when the deployment will occur and if and when each machine should be restarted. In addition, can provide e-mail alerts that notify you when patches are available and it can e-mail the results of scans and other information you wish to share with selected users.
enables you to scan for and eliminate spyware that may exist on your Microsoft-based network machines. The spyware process is very similar to the patch process, with two major exceptions:
Rather than scanning for and assessing patch status, will scan for and categorize any spyware located on your machines.
Rather than deploying patches to machines, will take corrective actions by removing the offending spyware programs from the machines and (if desired) placing them in a secure, quarantined area.
