Notifications and Warnings Options

The Notifications and Warnings dialog allows you to specify the buttons you want displayed in the left-hand pane (the navigation bar).

Prompt for language(s) on download

Enable this check box if you want Shavlik Protect to prompt you for language options whenever you initiate the download of a patch (see Downloading non-English language patches). If this option is not enabled, Shavlik Protect will automatically download patches for the languages selected in the Default languages to download list.

Display the file size confirmation dialog before downloading

Specify if you want the program to inform you of the file size of the patch before it is downloaded.  You may want to enable this option if you have a low-speed Internet connection and you want the option to cancel the download of particularly large files.

Warn before scheduling deployments in the past or within 24 hrs

If enabled, will cause a warning dialog to be displayed anytime you attempt to schedule a patch deployment to run within in the past 24 hours or within the next 24 hours. The dialog is a reminder that the deployment may run immediately depending on the time zone of the target machine(s).

Close Refresh Files when finished

If enabled, whenever files are automatically refreshed within the program, the refresh dialog will close automatically. This affects the Help > Refresh files command and the Import ITScripts dialog that is displayed whenever you select Manage > ITScripts.

Warn before scheduling operations when the Default Credentials do not match the current user

If enabled, will cause a warning dialog to be displayed anytime you attempt to schedule an operation and your integrated credentials (the credentials you used to log on to the console) are different than the default credentials. The scheduled operation is likely to succeed if the default credential is the same as your integrated credential.

The warning dialog will look similar to the following:

Warn if Protect Cloud sync is not enabled on this console

If you are using multiple Shavlik Protect consoles, and if one of your consoles is using Protect Cloud sync and another is not, enabling this check box will notify you of this situation. This is especially important if two or more consoles are sharing the same database. Each console that uses a Protect Cloud sync-enabled policy must be registered with Protect Cloud.
